Coding and Billing services typically fall into two categories: those
that provide claims-only services, and those that combine claims service with
practice management services.
 | Gain an understanding of Microsoft Office applications, and core
knowledge for Medical Terminology, Anatomy & Physiology, Medical Billing
& Insurance, Medical Ethics and Law, Pharmacology and Industry standard
ICD-9 and CPT-4 codes. Additionally, you'll learn about the growing
importance of security and privacy of medical records -HIPAA (Healthcare
Insurance, Portability & Accountability Act). Upon the successful
completion of all classes, you can apply to serve in an Externship
that provides invaluable practical experience under the supervision of our
Doctors and Staff and a cooperating physician's office, clinic, or other
healthcare facility. With this certificate program, you'll prepare for the
AAPC, American Academy of Professional Coders, CPC (Certified Professional
Coder) certification. Additionally, you'll prepare for the AHIMA, American
Health Information Management Association, CCS (Certified Coding Specialist)
and CCA (Certified Coding Associate) certifications. You'll also establish
the foundation to pursue an advanced degree in Health Information
