Health information coding specialists create and manage the codes that refer to specific health diseases and conditions and medical procedures. They work in doctor’s offices, hospitals and other health settings.

 

Medical/Specialty Coding  Short-Term or On-Line

 With this program, you'll gain the required skills to pursue a career in Medical Coding. You'll learn ICD-9-CM, CPT-4 Surgical and CPT-4 non-Surgical Coding procedures and prepare for the AAPC, American Academy of Professional Coders, CPC (Certified Professional Coder) certification. Additionally, you'll gain preparation for the AHIMA, American Health Information Management Association, CCS (Certified Coding Specialist) and CCA (Certified Coding Associate) certifications. Our Medical Coding program provides the foundation to pursue an advanced degree in Health Information Management. If you are interested in this program you must either possess a Medical Administration Program certificate or have a minimum 3 years recent experience in an Administrative Healthcare career.
